The World Surf League (WSL) has just confirmed Anchor Point has been chosen to host a men’s qualifying series in 2020! The QS5,000 Pro Taghazout Bay has been added to the schedule, and set to take place between the 25th January - 1st February, 2020.
We are stoked, to say the least and so is Ramzi Boukhiam, who stated in response "I'm really stoked to finally see my home spot shine," and "I can't wait for everyone to enjoy our waves and the beautiful culture. It's fantastic to have this first big QS in Morocco, especially on a world class wave.”
Anchor point is arguably the most famous spot of this region, this powerful right hand point break has been drawing in the big swell fanatics for years and at it’s peak the waves have been known to reach up to 16ft / 5m with big take offs, quick waves and rolling barrels.
